Creative Clay Construction for Kids

Sue Waterhouse

The young artist can squeeze, roll, coil, or drape.  No we’re not talking about a new dance, but rather some of the ways they can add their own creativity as they learn to work with clay in this half day class.  This is a wonderful class for those who have never made things with clay, as well as those with some experience.  Sue will explain how to form just about anything you can think of from animals, to spoon rests, to pencil holders and bowls!  Come and explore what can be made with clay.  After class, the clay pieces will be fired in a kiln and then picked up at the school a week later, so it can be finished at home (painted, stained, etc.). Prepare to get dirty playing in the clay.  Bring an old shirt or smock to wear.  No experience is necessary.  Great for artists ages 8 and up. (Parent with child welcome)
