Shades of Nature
Teresa Breuer
Once you learn how to create one of these magnificent lampshades you will feel like you’re out in the deep woods while you sit reading in your comfortable chair at night. The warmth and beauty that the light produces from the botanicals that appear when the light is turned on is magical! This class is divided into two ½ day sessions. The goal is to bring nature to life. Each student will create two lampshades using real botanicals found all around us in the Adirondacks; including, but not limited to, cedar and ferns. These botanicals will be pressed, preserving their natural beauty, which can be admired only when the lamp is on and are hidden when the lamp is off. In addition to a shade, the students will create two night-lights. All tools and materials will be provided. You just need to bring your love for nature and some creativity.
