Introduction to Beading

Susan Arehart

This class will focus on single strand beading techniques for a necklace, bracelet or ankle bracelet. Students will learn about the various types of wire, metal findings, glass, crystal and gemstone beads. Students will be able to incorporate local gems and minerals, including garnet, Herkimer diamonds and quartz. Sue will also address proper care and storage of beaded items made in this class.

  • Total course cost due at registration time: $55 (members)         $65 (nonmembers)
  • Course Length: 1 Half Day

Students may bring any drilled stones or charms they wish to incorporate into their creations.

Earring Design and Construction

Susan Arehart

In this class students will learn how to make earrings, including how to bend wire to fit beads or charms for earring assembly. Students will be able to make post earrings, dangle earrings, wire earrings, and adapt findings for non-pierced ears. Students will make 3-5 pairs of earrings, depending on style choice and difficulty level. Sue will also discuss proper care and storage for the earrings they design in this class.
